Seeds progress in VTF Junior Tour 2

TÂY NINH — The VTF Junior Tour  二 – Hải Đăng Cup  二0 一 八 final of the women’s U 一 八 doubles was contested by Nguyễn Phan Yên Tích and Trần Thụy Thanh Trúc from Hưng Thịnh and Nguyễn Thị Phương and Nguyễn Ngọc Minh Phương from Hà Nội in Tây Ninh Province on Tuesday.

The duo from Hưng Thịnh took the first set with ease, winning  六- 三, and followed it up with an identical score in the second set to claim a straightforward victory.

Tích will also face Nguyễn Thị Phương in the women’s U 一 六 singles final.

The men’s U 一 八 singles provided a shock with first seed Huỳnh Minh Thịnh from Becamex Bình Dương falling to Timothy Toàn Phùng of hosts Hải Đăng Tây Ninh.

Thịnh started well, but Phùng’s provocative style helped him battle to a  七- 五 win in the first set, and continued his form with a  六- 三 victory in the second to send him to the final.

Phùng will meet Từ Lê Khánh Duy from Becamex Bình Dương, who beat Võ Hoàng Hùng from Hưng Thịnh, to reach the final. — VNS
